The Kareri Lake, or the Kareri Dal as it is called locally lies in Dhauladhar mountains at an altitude of 3300 Meters. It lies in upper region of Dharamshala in Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh. The temperature of the area keep changing depending upon the skies and seasons. Winter is very harsh and cold here. However spring in Himalayas is the best season to opt any trek in the region so we advice you to opt this trek anytime between May to September. This trek is moderate to challenging one. The dense forest of the trek consists plenty of floras and faunas. You will have a close look at the different trees which are varieties of Pine, Devdar, Reododandrum and many wildflowers. The floras changes at different scale and height during trek. At the first day start of trek, it little steep but much gradual but next day of summiting the Kareri Lake is quite steep, tiring and really challenging. Once you will also cross a little patch of murrains – an area covered with big boulders and rocks. But mostly this trek is dominated with lush green Himalayan forests. We invite you to take the thrill of Kareri lake and get into a different part of Himalayan culture. Also from the top of Kareri Lake, there are many ancient passes visible and you will have chance to capture the different peaks of Dhauladhar Mountain range as this side of Dhauladhar is at its largest form.
